World Water Day 2024.3.22

ALLIE hosted an event in collaboration with MERY, a media group for Gen Z!

On March 22, World Water Day, ALLIE held an event in collaboration with MERY, a media group for Gen Z. Singer-songwriter BabyKiy was invited as our guest, and she talked about sustainability and beauty!  We welcomed guests and held an event during which we discussed sustainability in a way familiar to us, such as how Generation Z sees SDGs initiatives.

We also introduced ALLIE’s environmentally friendly design and outer packaging, which uses fewer plastics and gave participants the opportunity to try products out.

We also held a workshop where participants could customize their bags as they like! The bags were made with lots of love and can be used over and over again, contributing to the sustainability effort to “use precious things for a long time.”  It was a day to think about “sustainable actions around us that can be immediately put into practice.”

ALLIE X green bird collaboration project “Zero Waste Day” to clean up the Omotesando/Harajuku area

May 30 was coined “Zero Waste Day” from the kanji characters that can be read as gomi (waste). ALLIE held a cleanup event in the Omotesando and Harajuku areas.

This cleanup activity is part of ALLIE’s upcycling initiative, in which a portion of product sales is donated to environmental conservation activities, and by participating and cooperating in the actual activities, ALLIE embodies its concept of sustainability: “Caring for the world, with every use. For beauty that lasts.”  In addition, ALLIE has been cleaning up trash washed up on the beach every year. However, given the fact that about 80% of the trash that flows into the ocean is “trash from the city,” we decided to focus on cleaning up the streets first this year.  About 30 people, including volunteers from green bird, a non-profit organization that ALLIE works with every year as a cleanup partner, volunteers from the general public, and the ALLIE team started from the entrance of Harajuku Station and went through the Yoyogi Park area, collecting the many pieces of litter on the sidewalks and hidden behind trees and shrubs.

There were many small objects such as cigarette butts and paper, as well as non-combustible trash such as plastic bottles, cans, and drink cups. When the trash was further sorted and bagged, it filled 13 trash bags!  ALLIE will continue its efforts to be a brand that helps protect the environment through beach and city cleanup activities.

NPO green bird: Based on the concept of “a clean city makes people’s hearts clean,” green bird started its activities in Harajuku, Tokyo in 2002. As a volunteer organization in which anyone can casually participate at any time regardless of whether they are an individual, company, or organization, members of various generations have become involved, with 70 teams active in Japan and overseas. The number of participants has exceeded 30,000.

A “Think Sustainability Action” event was held at Morito Beach!

On Marine Day on July 15, ALLIE held a Think Sustainability Action event with special guests.

We held a talk session with the guests about their perceptions of the environment and the simple actions they regularly take and had them share the importance of continuing even small things.

Afterwards, participants had the opportunity to try ALLIE products and take part in yoga and meditation sessions.

The event ended with the guests, event participants and all members of the ALLIE team applying ALLIE sunscreen and engaging in beach cleanup at Morito Beach.

ALLIE X green bird collaboration project returns to clean up the Harajuku / Yoyogi Park areas!

About 40 people participated in the cleanup initiative, including volunteers from green bird, a non-profit organization that ALLIE works with every year as a cleanup partner, volunteers from the general public, and the ALLIE team.

On the day of the event, they started in Harajuku and continued cleaning up along the route leading to Yoyogi Park. “I had never thought there would be so much litter not only on sidewalks but also behind trees and shrubs and along roadsides,” they said, reflecting on their renewed awareness.

The collected trash, including combustibles, plastic bottles, and cans, was sorted out and bagged. The results showed that a particularly large amount of drink-related litter had been collected.

The total weight of trash exceeded 14 kg, which was a particularly large value according to green bird.

This gave us an invaluable opportunity not only to collect a large amount of trash but also to become more aware of the environment around us.  ALLIE will continue to take action in the future as a brand that contributes to environmental preservation.
